Chennai Petroleum Corp. (CPCL) said that its earnings grew 5.34 times to Rs 1,890.90 million for the quarter ended March 2007 compared with Rs 353.90 million for the same quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose 3.94% to Rs. 57,252.40 million compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago.
The operating margins improved to 5.86% during the quarter, a rise of 445.83 basis points compared with the same quarter, a year ago.
Net margins rose from 0.64% to 3.28% during the quarter.
The company`s earnings per share (EPS) on a trailing twelve month basis is Rs 37.94.
At the closing price of Rs 216.10 on Friday at the BSE, the company`s shares were valued at 5.70 times earnings on a trailing twelve month basis.
