Veteran Telugu actor and producer Anjali Devi died at a hospital in Chennai on Monday. She was 86. Anjali Devi, who acted in more than 350 films, was initially a theatre artiste and made her screen debut with a role in ‘Raja Harishchandra’ as Lohitasya in 1936. Anjali, who was married to music director and lyricist P. Adinarayana Rao, also produced over 20 Telugu films under the banner of Anjali Pictures. Anjali Devi’s movies include ‘Big Boss’, ‘Badi Pantulu’, ‘Devata’, ‘Bhishma’, ‘Palnati Yudham’, ‘Rangula Ratnam’, ‘Keelugurram’, ‘Suvarna Sundari’, ‘Brundavanam’, ‘Anna Vadhina’ and ‘Police Alludu’. The films she produced include ‘Annai Oru Alayam’, ‘Sarvadhikari’ and ‘Marmayogi’ in Tamil, and ‘Sati Sakkubai’, ‘Suvarna Sundari’ and ‘Chandi Priya’ in Telugu.
