The Madras Film Society along with the National Film Development Corporation will organize a six-day ‘Festival of Indian Films’ from Monday at the Film Chamber theatre in Chennai.

Each day, they will screen one film selected from different regions of the country. The festival will be inaugurated by K Rajagopal, president, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC). Abirami S Ramanathan is to preside over the function, which has N Ramakrishnan, regional Manager, NFDC and actress Devayani as guests of honour.

The National Award winning Tamil film Thavamai Thavamirunthu, directed by Cheran. Hindi film Samar, directed by Shyam Benegal, Malayalam film, Thanmathra, directed by Blessy with Mohanlal, Jagathy Sreekumar, Meera Vasudev in the lead roles, Bengali film Tok Jhal Misti, directed by Basu Chaterjee and Pokiri, the Telugu film starring Mahesh Babu, Ileana, Prakash Raj and Sayaji Shinde, would be screened.
